PapairWrap – The bubble wrap made of paper

PapairWrap, the bubble wrap made of 100% paper and without synthetics and adhesives is finally on the market, with it’s innovative process for the production of the sustainable packaging material.

A start-up called Papair has overcome various delays to begin production of PapairWrap, its sustainable packaging alternative made from paper. The production commencement, initially planned for March 2022, faced multiple delays due to the pandemic and global political event. The company is based in Retham and has conducted pilot projects with select customers to evaluate the use of PapairWrap and incorporate feedback into further development.

A second, larger plant is also planned to meet increasing demand and offer different product width. Papair, founded in 2020 with the aim of reducing plastic waste, has gained recognition for its innovative approach, winning awards like the Durchstarterpreis and and participating in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator. The company is now looking to expand its product offerings beyond bubble wrap to include sustainable shipping bags, padded shipping boxes, and custom-made products.
