An innovation adaptable packaging machine with an IO-Link solution
Rotzinger, a leading manufacturer of packaging and cosmetic machines, and CoreTigo, a provider of wireless industrial automation solutions, have teamed up to create this thrilling piece of innovation that enhances versatility, productivity and sustainability.
How did this come to exist? A food manufacturer approached Rotzinger requesting a machine based on an intelligent multi-carrier conveyor, responsible for performing various operations on the products while constantly operating at high speed, therefore cables were not an option. This is where CoreTigo’s IO-Link Wireless technology was employed, this technology means that Rotzinger can wirelessly control clamps on trolleys without the need for external robots, cables or other equipment.
Benefits of these technological advancements are reduced changeover time and maximised capacity and versatility to support multiple types of products and packaging. The results of this are increased durability, as the machine requires less energy, space and parts. This also means that the number of machines required to carry out a production process is reduced too as this new technology can process different products and packaging models.
Advancements like this help to create a full connected ecosystem, enabling real-time control and monitoring at every stage of the manufacturing process. Machines and production lines benefit from increased versatility and optimised design therefore increasing operational efficiency and productivity.
