Paper Pulp Moulded Tray

Description

The trays are manufactured from FSC Certified sources of vegetable origin with most of them being cellulose with a surface coating based on corn and potato starches in order to further protect the food they will contain.

All these trays are available laminated with PP, PE and Compostable film and we are currently looking for a CPET film for higher oven temperatures.

The trays laminated with PP film can be microwaveable with 750 watt for 5 min or 900 watt for 3 minutes. They are ovenable to a temperature up to 140C for 45 minutes

The trays laminated with Compostable film can be microwaveable with 750 watt for 5 min or 900 watt for 3 minutes. They are ovenable to a temperature up to 140C for 45 minutes
The trays with PE film cannot be used in the microwave.
The paper pulp material starts to discolour over 180 degrees and combusts at 260 degrees so necessary trails would need to be carried out by yourselves for the suitability of baking to 200 to 220 degrees.

The trays have passed the most rigorous composability study according to the current standard (EN 13432:2000), which means that in 12 weeks the tray will have biodegraded and that the resulting compost allows the growth of new plant species. The trays have the OK-Compost certification which indicates that they are both biodegradable and compostable.

The trays laminated with the PP and PE film have a 8% film weight of the total tray weight so can be labelled “Widely Recycled”.

As the paper trays are made from high quality Cellulose they are safe for food and do not affect organoleptic properties throughout the supply chain. In order to extend the shelf life of the food in our trays we have provided them with a surface treatment that protects the food even more, guaranteeing the strictest conditions for food contact.

As the trays are 100% vegetable cellulose and the pulp does not alter the pulp is a natural colour with some discolouration caused during the thermoforming process.
