Working with a European film producer we now have access to a 1000 tonnes + of BOPP film produced from Used Cooking Oil (or UCO). Whilst the product still falls between the gaps in terms of UK and EU legislation it is accredited with ISCC PLUS. We think the mere fact that the film is derived from a used source makes it an interesting product for those suppliers keen to offer sustainable alternative films and food packaging products.
The UCO comes from a reliable and plentiful source and is processed through a polymerisation plant on it’s journey to being returned to virgin PP resin.
Our BRCGS accredited manufacturer then uses this resin to produce BOPP films indistinguishable from standard products.
