In a bid to alleviate consumer responsibility and promote a more effective circular system for food packaging, Wipak UK is growing its sustainable product portfolio – GreenChoice – with continuous new product development and innovation, which it will showcase at Packaging Innovations & Empack on 21 – 22 February 2024 at the NEC in Birmingham.

One such innovation is a mono polyester lidding film currently in development, which is designed to be part-peelable and part weld-seal, ensuring it stays firmly attached to its base tray and the pack is recycled in its entirety at kerbside.”
Thanks to a multi-million-pound machinery investment in 2021, Wipak UK’s GreenChoice range has seen continuous expansion in recent years, addressing the challenges posed by contemporary recycling practices. With its state-of-the-art converting equipment, the award-winning flexible packaging supplier can design packs that use less plastic, have a lower carbon footprint, and which are easier to recycle than market-standard formats.
