1-litre of ink or 350Kg of labels... which would you choose?

Printing directly onto cartons offers significant environmental and cost benefits compared to applying labels.

A single 1-litre of UBS Aplink ink can print 200,000 typical outer case carton label designs directly onto cartons eliminating the need for 350Kg of labels.

Furthermore, of that 350Kg of labels, about 145Kg is made up of backing paper that is extremely difficult to have recycled and mostly ends up in landfill or incinerated.

Haulage carbon is also greatly reduced by avoiding the shipping of label materials from Northern Europe to slitting facilities in the UK, then on to the label maker… and finally to the end user. That’s 3 journeys for 350Kg of material compared to 1-litre of ink.

As well as the environmental benefits, printing directly onto cartons typically costs 5-6 times less than applying labels.
