Spectra will be making a return visit to London Olympia for this year’s prestigious Packaging Innovations show.

Looking to build on a successful showing at last year’s London event, Spectra will be unveiling their impressive new exhibition stand, which made its debut in Birmingham in February.

At this year’s show Spectra will be focusing on sustainability, with their main display illustrating the firms responsible ethos, as well as a choice of material alternatives designed to help brands move to more environmental ways to package their products.

Spectra will be highlighting their new PCR10 initiative which has attracted widespread media coverage over recent months.

The new mandatory environmental opt-out initiative will see 10% recycled plastics added to all future bottle manufacturing by the end of 2018 and is a bold move aimed at helping brands reduce virgin plastic content in their product packaging.

Spectra’s Sales Director Jonathan Powell said, “We’re really looking forward to exhibiting in London again. The event will be an excellent platform to show visitors how serious Spectra are about the environment and the measures we take to minimise our impact as a responsible manufacturer of plastics”.

He added, “The show will also grant us a perfect opportunity to discuss our PCR10 initiative and highlight the benefits it will provide for brands wishing to make an environmental difference”.

As well as showcasing PCR10 and post-consumer recycled materials, Spectra will also be on hand to discuss other environmental alternatives, including sugarcane-based Biopolymer.

Jonathan added, “With continued media exposure, sustainability and the impact of plastic is still high on the agenda and Spectra has made a concerted effort to ensure it remains so. In previous years we have focussed on innovative pack design, however, in the current climate, it is equally important to showcase innovative solutions for minimising the effects of plastics on the environment”.
