Gosh! Food have a strong reputation for producing healthy, natural, plant based foods that deliver on flavour and can boast a completely free from allergen ingredients list. The launch of their new trio: Mexican Style Mini Burgers, Tomato & Basil Croquettes and Original Falafel, marks the company’s first step into the frozen sector and they were looking for a 100% recyclable packaging solution.

Gosh! Food products always have huge shelf appeal with their eye-catching and vibrant packaging designs. With the launch of new products into a new category it was imperative that Gosh! Food maintained the brand loyalty of their existing customer base as well as appeal to new shoppers. Therefore the role of the packaging could not be underestimated in achieving a successful product launch.

FFP suggested a mono material all PE (Polyethylene) laminate called FFPE that can be recycled with carrier bags at larger supermarkets as classified by OPRL. FFPE is extremely versatile and ideal for frozen applications. It has been developed for outstanding performance to run efficiently on existing packaging lines without the need for costly modifications and with no drop-off in throughput.

It was a key priority for Gosh! Food that their packaging was vibrant and created dynamic shelf appeal, whilst reflecting their sustainable and environmental values. Therefore FFP provided a white PE laminate that enhanced the intensity of the colours when printed but also had a matt effect which created a very tactile and natural look and feel to the packaging. The high quality print was sandwiched between the laminate layers to maintain its integrity and avoid any scratching or rubbing.

FFPE also tears nicely without the need for lasering to ensure pack opening is fuss-free for consumers. It was supplied to Gosh! Food in real form for them to form and fill on their own lines but it can also be supplied as pre-made pouches and bags or sachets.
