Bagging success for LDL Components

Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS), the UK’s flexible wrapping and bagging experts, are delighted to announce the supply of a vertical bagging solution to LDL Components Ltd based in Hadfield.

YPS have supplied a vertical bagging solution to LDL Components, the leading distributors of Blum lift, hinge, drawer and runner systems.

In 2021 LDL launched a distribution service specialising in bespoke packing for large volume manufacturers and retail studios, requiring the creation of hinge and lift system packs for fitters. Packs were to be hand-picked, bagged and collated in boxes for shipment. For control of quality, cost and process, LDL wanted an in-house operation with efficient machinery to manage high volumes, as well as a quality material with improved environmental credentials for their clients.

YPS supplied two SX autobaggers incorporating light curtain initiation systems to achieve a hands-free sealing operation for increased speeds. The inbuilt thermal transfer printers deliver direct-on bag printing of barcodes and information whilst batch counters ensure the accurate fulfilment of each run. The units also boast a user-friendly HMI and an extra-wide passthrough, offering the flexibility to bag multiple sized packs. YPS are also supplying recyclable dual-tone polybags with 30% recycled content. A white side displays printed information with optimised barcode readability whilst the clear facilitates inspection of contents.

LDL are achieving speeds of 12 bags per minute per machine, allowing them to comfortably meet the clients’ requirements. They also report cost savings, increased autonomy, reduced lead times and enhanced pack quality.
