Sustainability: Aegg Achieves SBTi Validation

In April 2025, Aegg had our near-term scope 1 & 2 carbon emission reduction targets validated by SBTi, currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process.

Aegg’s SBTi Validation:
In April 2025, Aegg had our near-term scope 1 & 2 carbon emission reduction targets validated by SBTi, currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process.

Aegg is committed to reducing our company's absolute scope 1 & 2 emissions by 58.8% by 2034 from a 2023 base year, and to measure and reduce our scope 3 emissions. Aegg has also developed a Net Zero2 plan to achieve by 2050 with the support of our partner, Smart Carbon.

Aegg’s Sustainability Journey:
Achieving the SBTi validation is a very important milestone in Aegg’s sustainability journey to date.

In addition, Aegg has achieved the following over the last six months:

Completed a two-day IEMA Certified CPD course attended by Aegg’s senior team. This covered climate emergency, greenhouse gas accounting, carbon footprinting, net zero, and carbon reduction.

Measured and reported our scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions in line with the GHG protocol.

Developed and communicated our supplier sustainability criteria to align our carbon emissions reduction ambitions with our suppliers and encouraged them to sign up to SBTis. This gives confidence to our customers that we are aligned with their net-zero ambitions.

Committed to a Pure Green Electricity Tariff to achieve 100% renewable electricity in our operations in Eye in 2025.

In parallel Aegg has evaluated and framed our sustainability approach by committing to seven UN Sustainability Development Goals, including Climate Action and Affordable Clean Energy.

Aegg’s Ongoing SBTi Commitments:
To achieve our SBTi commitments, as part of our overall sustainability goals, Aegg will, in the coming years, focus our business on energy-saving and carbon-reducing initiatives such as electrification of our transport, green shipping, and sourcing glass from suppliers focussed on carbon reduction and the technological development of electric glass furnace production.
