As a leading supplier of packaging solutions, we are proud to announce our recent achievement of Level 3 certification in Smart Carbon’s respected five-step carbon reduction programme. This significant milestone underscores Aegg’s commitment to environmental stewardship and our ongoing journey towards a more sustainable future for the packaging industry.
The five levels are as follows:
Level 1 – Qualified: At least one representative has completed the 2 day Advanced Carbon Course
Level 2 – Reporting: The organisation has completed a report that meets the principles of the GHG Protocol and includes at least 5 areas of the extended value chain (Scope 3) emissions
Level 3 – Net Zero Ambition: The organisation has set a Net Zero target and made this public
Level 4 – Reducing: The organisation is able to demonstrate at least 3 consecutive years of carbon emissions reductions from the established baseline year
Level 5 – Climate Leader: The organisation is able to demonstrate at least 3 years of absolute carbon emissions reductions, along with specified steps to incorporate climate action within their organisation
As Aegg continues to expand, we remain committed to meeting today's needs while protecting the future. We have undertaken a comprehensive review of our operations and pledged to achieve Net Zero by 2050; through initiatives such as increasing the production of right-weighting products and undertaking sustainability audits with our suppliers encouraging them to commit to Net Zero and seek SBTi validation. Because we own our own warehouse and fleet, we can focus on improved process control and reduced environmental impact, and the implementation of a community engagement programme has connected our employees with local environmental issues. Aegg consistently strives to minimise our environmental footprint while delivering exceptional value to our clients.
