Boots Launches Nationwide Blister Pack Recycling Programme
Following a successful regional pilot, Boots has expanded its blister pack recycling
scheme to over 800 stores across the UK.
The initiative encourages customers to recycle empty blister packs from any brand, including those used for medications and vitamins. Boots Advantage Card members can earn 100 points (equivalent to £1) for every five empty blister packs recycled, provided they spend £5 or more in-store. This programme is part of the broader ‘Recycle at Boots’ initiative, in collaboration with technology partner Metrisk and recycling partner MYGroup. To participate, customers need to download the ‘Recycle at Boots’ app, log their empty blister packs, and deposit them at a participating store. The collected materials are processed by MYGroup, separating plastic and foil for reuse in products like playground equipment and construction materials. Customers can locate their nearest participating store through the Boots Store Locator.
