Your guide to speaking at Packaging Innovations & Empack 2024

Travelling by Train? 

You won’t even need to brave the elements. Direct services run all day, however if you’re travelling from further afield you may need to catch a connecting train at Birmingham New Street, which is less than a 15-minute journey away. Just enough time to fuel up on caffeine!

Travelling by Car? 

You’ll find us clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6 – just pop B40 1NT in your sat nav to get to the NEC Site. Once on site please stop using your Sat Nav and follow the digital screens to direct you to the car park. 

After parking, simply jump on our free shuttle bus, or take a leisurely stroll along our signposted footpaths. 

 
Travelling by Plane?
Simply take the free and fast air-rail link to Birmingham International Railway Station located at the upper level of Terminal 1. The train runs every two minutes and only takes 90 seconds. When you arrive just head straight through to the NEC.
 
Traveling by bike? 
The best and safest way to get to us by your own steam is to use the shared cycle footpath route to Birmingham International Railway Station and then the NEC is a short walk from there, it should take you about 10 minutes.

Finding your stage, speaker VIP lounge, and getting set up for your talk.

  1. When you arrive to the hall, please collect your speaker badge from one of the hostesses (they will be able to search by name if you haven’t received your confirmation email).
  2. Once inside the hall please head to the VIP & Speaker lounge (see floorplan here)
  3. The stages are quite split at this event so please see the floorplan below to find the stage you’ll be speaking at. 
  4. To get set up with your microphone for your session please arrive at your stage at least 15 minutes prior to the start time.

Marketing tips and tricks, to ensure you have a busy audience.

 

As a speaker, there are a few things that we provide to help you promote your talk specifically. (We handle this for the most part, but direct communications with your network can create much more buzz around your session!)

Firstly, we create unique artwork for you to share on socials, websites and in email signatures which will be emailed over to you.

Secondly, we provide a social media event registration tool called Gleanin. This tool creates personalised banners with your name, headshot and your session title so that you can invite your network – via email, WhatsApp, LinkedIn & other social media platforms.

 

How to use Gleanin:

  1. Open your personalised Gleanin link (sent via email by Parisa Maleki or the marketing team)
  2. Click the ‘start posting here’ button.
  3. Select with platform/s you’d like to share on.
  4. Press the ‘copy post’ button
  5. Press the ‘open XXX’ (dependent on the platform selected) button – paste the text and edit as you would like.
  6. Post as normal.
