      Packaging Technology Consultancy

The threat of climate change is generating an increased consumer desire to purchase products that have minimal effect on the environment and is driving the implementation of extended producer responsibility (EPR) legislation across the globe. If businesses don’t act now to evaluate the packaging and products they are placing on markets, they could be left behind in terms of environmental performance, which could damage their reputation and increase their environmental compliance costs. It is hoped that packaging legislation reforms will provide businesses with an opportunity to gain in-depth insights from their data, which they can use to make positive changes to packaging. We provide a Packaging Technology Consultancy service, which is underpinned by packaging experts and robust data, and forms part of our wider Packaging Analysis service. Our expert consultants will: Process map the journey of your products – cradle-to-grave approach. Document current packaging specifications (board grades, microns, polymer types, etc.) Re-engineer packaging to mitigate packaging, operational, and EPR costs Identify quick wins – opportunities to reduce, reuse, standardise. Help you to plan for the future (responsible sourcing, EPR, and ESG reporting, etc)

    2. Paint & Coatings Packaging

      Paint & Coatings Packaging

The packaging used in the paint and coatings industry does not vary too widely in shape and size. Common containers found in the industry are round paint style cans, oblong f-style cans, monotops, conetops, aerosol cans, industrial round jugs, and rectangular f-style jugs. Sizes range from one pint to 2.5 gallons. Bulk-sized packaging used in the industry includes pails, drums, and IBC totes with sizes ranging from 1 gallon to 275 gallons. Plastic HDPE jugs and tinplate metal cans are the most common materials used for these types of packaging because of both materials’ trusted durability. Stock metal packaging is often available unlined but is also typically stocked with rust inhibitor or epoxy lining. Matching lids, dispensing systems, and other accessories such as seals are available based on the product needs. Covers with gaskets for plastic pails to tamper-evident closures for plastic jugs are also commonly stocked for a complete package.

      Palomat pallet stacker & de-stacker

The PALOMAT Greenline is designed for automatic pallet stacking and destacking using a touch-panel interface. It only requires a 230 V power supply. The user can insert or remove pallets using a stacking truck or fork lift truck at floor level. The PALOMAT Greenline detects the pallets using photo sensors and automatically stacks or destacks them one by one. When selecting destacking, the PALOMAT can handle a stack of up to 15 or 25 pallets, which are then destacked automatically. When selecting stacking, the pallets are inserted one by one and automatically stacked to a maximum of 15 or 25 pallets. The entire stack can then be removed. The touch panel is used to switch between stacking and destacking modes, but otherwise the PALOMAT Greenline operates automatically. The pallet magazine/dispenser is a standard model but can accommodate a wide variety of pallet types and sizes, with custom solutions available for specific customer needs.
