When Unilever came to the Alexir Partnership, they weren’t looking for an off-the-shelf solution. They wanted a bespoke, premium tea gift for winners of the Dutch National Lottery—something with real presence, a memorable opening experience, and a second life as a reusable tea storage box.

Alexir International went straight to work, researching, sourcing, testing and comparing multiple gift pack options from across global supply markets. Every material, finish and structure was challenged. The goal? Find a solution that felt premium, performed flawlessly, and aligned with long-term use—not single-use gifting.

The standout choice was a bespoke-designed bamboo box. Natural. Durable. Beautiful. And responsibly sourced.

The box was designed in the UK, then manufactured at a specialist factory in the Far East, selected for its expertise in working with high-grade bamboo. Only the highest-quality bamboo was used, delivering a smooth, clean finish and the strength needed to protect the contents inside.

Custom bamboo dividers were sourced and engineered to fit the tea bags perfectly, adding rigidity to the structure while elevating the unboxing experience. Each cavity was designed so the tea bags could be laid flat—easy to access, easy to refill, and built for reuse long after the first opening.
Every detail was considered. The lid and base were intricately laser-burned with a bespoke pattern and FSC logo. A magnetic closure and thumb-cut opening were added, enhancing both functionality and that all-important premium feel.

Finally, everything came together in Sussex, where the Alexir co-packing team assembled the finished gift boxes in the UK.
