The Halopack®is a board-based MAP capable food tray and is produced from sustainable cardboard. It is also designed to extend the shelf life of daily fresh food over conventional carton-board tray options due to an extensive EVOH barrier, thus reducing food wastage. The cardboard packaging has a patented design that is fully sealable with a unique inline production system for optimal conservation of the packed product. The Halopack® has been presented with numerous major awards in Europe since its conception and M&S was the first retailer to use the innovative packaging format in the UK.

Skinpack by Alexir

Skinpack by Alexir is the new member of the Halopack family, using the same technology and sharing the same genetic make-up. The skinpack format is a shallow fully gas-tight and high barrier board tray, especially suitable for the meat, fish and cheese markets.

Octagonal Halopack by Alexir

The new chicken brand ‘Sicin Sasta’ from Carton Bros. has launched into the multiple retailers in southern Ireland in the latest innovative pack format from the halopack family. The airtight board tray has been designed with ‘angled’ corners to mimic the rounded edges of a black plastic tray which can negate the need for new machinery and tooling. The 8-sided halopack runs efficiently on their existing production lines and has also saved 81% of plastic by replacing the previous tray material with board. In addition, the board contains 83% recycled content and comes from sustainably managed forests. There are three new SKUs of raw cuts of free-range chicken in this pack format and the artisan look of the board material sits well with the brand’s identity. The brand owners at Carton Bros. take animal welfare seriously and the strapline for Sicin Sasta is ‘Chicken Raised Right’. The free-range chickens are raised naturally at their own pace and this environment makes for great-tasting, succulent chicken. The halopack tray from Alexir was the first board-based airtight food tray in the UK market and there are now six standard sizes across the retailers as well as the 8-sided format for Manor Farm. There is also a shallow tray better known as the ‘skinpack’ which is suitable for red meats, fish and sliced cheese. The Alexir Partnership have the licence to sell this patented pack format in the UK and currently sell circa 60 million in the retail, wholesale and foodservice markets.

Premium Gifting, Sourced to Perform When Unilever came to the Alexir Partnership, they weren’t looking for an off-the-shelf solution. They wanted a bespoke, premium tea gift for winners of the Dutch National Lottery—something with real presence, a memorable opening experience, and a second life as a reusable tea storage box. Alexir International went straight to work, researching, sourcing, testing and comparing multiple gift pack options from across global supply markets. Every material, finish and structure was challenged. The goal? Find a solution that felt premium, performed flawlessly, and aligned with long-term use—not single-use gifting. The standout choice was a bespoke-designed bamboo box. Natural. Durable. Beautiful. And responsibly sourced. The box was designed in the UK, then manufactured at a specialist factory in the Far East, selected for its expertise in working with high-grade bamboo. Only the highest-quality bamboo was used, delivering a smooth, clean finish and the strength needed to protect the contents inside. Custom bamboo dividers were sourced and engineered to fit the tea bags perfectly, adding rigidity to the structure while elevating the unboxing experience. Each cavity was designed so the tea bags could be laid flat—easy to access, easy to refill, and built for reuse long after the first opening. Every detail was considered. The lid and base were intricately laser-burned with a bespoke pattern and FSC logo. A magnetic closure and thumb-cut opening were added, enhancing both functionality and that all-important premium feel. Finally, everything came together in Sussex, where the Alexir co-packing team assembled the finished gift boxes in the UK. The result? A premium gift that looks exceptional, feels considered, and proves the power of intelligent sourcing—handled end to end, under one partnership, with zero compromise.

When their team set out to launch the French’s American Favourites range, speed was everything. A bold new concept built around classic American comfort food, designed for busy kitchens and big flavour. Five recipe kits. Thirty minutes from box to plate. Zero compromise. Buttermilk Chicken. Mac n Cheese. Sloppy Joes. Carolina Chicken. Nashville Chicken. All now sitting proudly on Tesco shelves. Because Alexir offers multiple packaging solutions under one partnership, we were able to move quickly—and keep everything seamless. We designed a slim, gable-top carton tailored precisely for production efficiency. Our manufacturing teams brought it to life, producing the cartons in-house before transporting them straight to our co-packers. Every component arrived exactly where it needed to be, when it needed to be there. From packing and palletising to final shipment, the entire range was handled end to end. Bringing Kraft Heinz’s Amoy meal kits to life through complete design, sourcing and co-packing expertise, Alexir delivered a retailer-ready range and managed a complex pan-European supply chain from concept to shelf. Amoy sought to launch a new pan-Asian cooking brand. It would require pack design, ingredients sourcing, pack build, co-packing and the smooth navigation of a post-Brexit supply chain to deliver this major launch to market. Alexir made use of multiple in-house divisions to bring this project together with agility and skill. Working hand in hand with the client, we devised well-executed solutions for many components in the new meal kits, supplying packaging, sourcing rice and noodles internationally and co-packing. Working from a brief, CAD designers in Alexir Creative designed and sampled the outer cartons on a folding box board and FFS pouches for early retailer engagement. Once feedback was received, the range of 4 kits required us to put a flexible print campaign together at Alexir Packaging, and use the full suite of colours and spot varnishes to lift specific brand queues. Using the network of food industry contacts, Alexir Co-Packing helped source noodles and a sticky rice that supported the portfolio that Amoy wanted to take to market. Importantly, Amoy asked Alexir Co Pack to run their pan-European supply chain, landing food goods from 3 mainland European countries, while navigating post Brexit legislation. Lastly, Alexir delivered to Amoy’s National Distribution Centre prior to them distributing to retailers. Working across multiple divisions of Alexir Partnership allowed us to roll out this new product development at a rapid pace and without any of the typical barriers that can occur without a turnkey solution. The final product has now been rolled into Europe for some key leading Benelux retailers in addition to the UK.
