Q-contact Whitakers Print Week Winner 2024

This award-winning pack designed for Whitakers by Qualvis combines direct Q-contact inks and varnishes printed on the inside of the carton with a redesigned internal structure that securely holds the truffles. Together, these innovations enabled the complete removal of the double plastic clamshell, while still maintaining safe protection for the product through to the end customer.

The overall carbon footprint was significantly reduced by replacing UV curing inks and varnishes with conventional inks and varnishes containing high levels of bio renewable content. The outer cellophane wrap was also removed and replaced with an integrated tear strip within the carton design, keeping the lid secure during transit and on shelf.

Sustainability was further improved by switching to an FSC certified board from Holmen Board and Paper, with the material travelling just 225 miles from tree to carton manufacture.
