PolyFlex

PolyFlex represents a breakthrough in block cheese packaging, replacing traditional mixed nylon laminates – one of the hardest to recycle materials – with a recyclable mixed polyolefin structure. Recognised with the Best New Concept Award at the UK Packaging Awards 2024, this innovation sets a new sustainability benchmark for the industry. Responding to growing demand for sustainable solutions from brands and retailers, PolyFlex is a direct replacement for nylon/PE laminates, offering recyclability through return-to-store plastics while meeting and exceeding a 120-day shelf-life requirement. Performing in line with present nylon/PE specifications, PolyFlex tackles one of the industry’s biggest recycling challenges by removing nylon from waste streams. PolyFlex also delivers impressive measurable environmental savings: over 10% weight reduction, a carbon footprint of over 30%, and up to 25% less energy used compared to nylon laminates. Extruded using Coveris’ technical barrier films in the UK, PolyFlex integrates seamlessly into existing production lines, requiring no additional investment. Available with or without a resealable zip, PolyFlex provides functionality and convenience for consumers while enabling brands to customise packs with high-clarity, HD flexo printing in up to 9 colours. Vacuum Skin Packaging (VSP)

Enhanced protection, less waste: Coveris’ high-performance vacuum skin packaging films utilise our expertise in the production of co-extruded barrier films for maximum product protection, quality, freshness and safety. Compatible with PE, PET, PP, aluminium and cartonboard base trays, our VSP solutions prolong the shelf life of perishable foods such as fresh meat and fish, cheese, and chilled products. VSP multi-layer barrier films are manufactured at our leading PE extrusion facility in Winsford, UK, delivering supply chain product security using tailored functional performance for demanding applications. VSP has high clarity and puncture resistance and is available in a wide range of thicknesses and sealing options. Our films are validated for use on all major standard packing lines.

MonoFlex Thermoform PaperFeel

Linerless Labels

Less waste, more benefits Linerless labels provide a lightweight, sustainable alternative with improved efficiencies and process advantages through their non-utilisation of carrier backing paper. Providing a semi-adhesive label format which partially adheres to pack via minimal glue application, label faces are specially coated to prevent adhesion on the reel, allowing labels to be supplied without carrier backing paper. Reel weight is significantly reduced by up to 40%, meaning less weight, waste, storage and reel changeovers.
