About us
Roberts Mart is the market leading independent flexible packaging manufacturer based in Leeds. We work with our customers to create the most reliable, innovative, sustainable and cost-effective packaging solutions for their individual projects.
We are an independent, privately owned company, established in 1852 and run by the sixth generation of the Roberts family.
We have a range of different product groups we produce from recycled films, recyclable single plastic laminates, heat sealable papers and compositable materials all of which can be supplied with barrier technology for a range of applications.
Products & services
PaperForm - Heat Sealable Papers
PaperForm is our range of heat sealable papers which are designed to run on conventional packing lines. These materials are an alternative to common mixed material OPP laminates or Mono PE films and can be supplied with various barrier properties. All these papers can include the paper recycling logo and are also available in compostable options.
EnviRM - Recyclable Laminates & Pouches
EnviRM is our range of single plastic alternatives to complex multi material nonrecyclable laminates which can used in an array of applications where good barrier and sealing properties are required. These materials support a circular economy and can be recycled with carrier bags in store and with some kerbside collection schemes. These structures can also be supplied in stand-up pouch applications.
RefoRM - Recycled films and bags
Promoting a truly circular economy we are able to produce both plain and printed films and bags which contain a percentage of recycled material and are deemed recyclable.
GreenfoRM - Compostables
Our compostable sustainable laminate options are partly made from renewable non-fossil fuel based resources which reduce the reliance on petrochemicals and can be returned back to nature after use. These laminates have direct food contact approval and exhibit excellent barrier properties. They are also available in a paper feel effect for organic and artisan applications. We are working towards the Plastic Pact by eliminating and replacing plastics which would otherwise potentially end up in landfill
SpectRM - Award Winning Ultra High Definition Flexo Print

Roberts Mart are pleased to announce the development of our new award winning innovative print technology – SpectRM®. The recent successes comes as a result of a significant innovation in our print process, making its commercial debut. Heralded as “a flawless, fixed palette four-colour job with amazing colour vibrancy” in the judges’ comments, the plaudits were courtesy of a newly developed prepress innovation called SpectRM®, which has been developed alongside one of our existing repro partners. The print result matched the stringent expectations of a brand such as Mars, which was considering moving its printing back to gravure. Laser perforated steam vents
Steam vents in flexible microwave packaging enable safe, convenient cooking by allowing controlled steam release. Coffee valves Applied to pre-made pouches
In the constantly growing world of coffee, freshness is paramount. We have the solution to deliver. Coffee lovers expect the end-product to retain its distinctive flavour and aromas, leading to the demand for one-way degassing valves in coffee packaging. These valves are designed to release gases produced by the coffee while preventing oxygen from entering the package, thereby extending the shelf life of the coffee.
RFID Labelling
RFID labels can help retailers understand stock levels, prevent theft, and track industry trends. They can also help retailers pinpoint product locations in a store, which can help direct customers to items. Using our reel fed label applicators we are able to supply these labels and apply them to pre-made bags ready for your use.
Paperstrip Films and Pouches
Windows in paper packs offer the consumers the ability to see the contents of the product before buying. These paper packs offer an artisan quality to the product and can often be supplied in recyclable options in paper streams. We have the ability to supply these windows in paper packs in both pre made bags and film on the reel for form, fill and seal applications.
MicrowaveSusceptors
Susceptors are microwavable materials which are applied to food packaging where the end product needs to remain crispy and/or browned during microwaving. They deliver oven-like performance and can be added into a variety of packaging formats. Produced using aluminium and metallised materials they are designed to absorb the energy from the microwave.
Stand Up Pouches
Pre-made pouches can be produced and supplied in various forms and constructions for a multitude of applications in either recyclable or recycled materials. These have a strong visual impact on shelf. We are able to offer a variety of bag and pouch styles and formats including stand-up pouches and Doy packs, all can be supplied with resealable closures, useful for refill applications. Optional laser-scored lines for ease of opening are also available.
Easy OpenLaser Scoring
With an ever ageing population and other consumer needs, our laser scored films and bags are available where applications dictate that the material needs to be selectively weakened to allow the consumer to easily open the packed product in a controlled line. They are ideal where a closure is also required such as a zipper. These lines can be scribed in more than one direction both in and against the machine’s direction. The technology also allows for shapes or curves to be created including the ability to partly cut out layers of the web.
Sequential Numbering System
Our unique numbering system turns packaging into a powerful promotional tool by printing accurate, traceable 8-digit codes directly onto packs. This enables brands to run engaging competitions, encourage repeat purchases, and build customer loyalty. The system ensures consistent, secure code application using food-grade inks, maintaining high standards across all packaging types.
