Expac is a UK based contract manufacturer specialising in the development and manufacturing of personal care, household care and pet care products. Established in 1980, Expac have 40 years of industry experience supporting brands in the formulation and manufacturing of globally recognised products.
With a reputation for flexibility, quality and outstanding service, Expac have the capability to produce a wide range of toiletry, cosmetic and household products across powders, surfactants, emulsions, gels, salts, balms, waxes, oils and alcohol-based formulations.
The 60,000 square foot manufacturing facility has multiple production lines which can produce from 10ml to 5 litres, in a wide range of packaging formats such as; bottles, tubes, jars and pouches. Additionally, with our hand assembly area and gift packing lines, Expac has a solution for all your contract packing requirements.

FORMULATION DEVELOPMENT

PACKAGING DEVELOPMENT
Expac will design, develop and source the perfect packaging for you. Delivering a fit-for-purpose and fit-to-brand packaging solution is integral to your brand. With our extensive supplier network, we are perfectly positioned to source and propose packaging solutions that meet client expectations. Our waterless powder technology can be delivered in two different ways. A consumer can shake the powder directly into their hand, add water and then commence using it or they can add water to a powder in a vessel, shake and dispense the viscous, liquid stable product from the pack using a standard pump or cap. Brands have the option of choosing the technology route dependant on the product purpose and its end use! What We Can Offer ? LOW SALT BETAINE INNOVATION
Expac has developed a range of market-leading viscous & stable sulphate-free formulations based on Libra's Speciality Chemincals Low Salt Betaine. These formulations quickly generate flash foam, further developing visibly high volumes of dense foam with easy rinsing & excellent skin feel during & after use. The foaming & thickening properties of Low Salt Betaine provide formulations meeting consumer expectation with an in-use experience comparable to sulphate-free surfactant options such as Alpha Olefin Sulfonate & Alkyl Polyglucosides. Low Salt Betaine has an ultra-low salt content of <0.5%, which allows the development of stable formulations, with higher Betaine inclusion levels, in both personal care & household products. This is not possible with standard grades of Betaine containing circa 5.5% salt. Low Salt Betaine is RSPO MB (palm free options), vegan, vegetarian, halal, NDPE, cruelty free, 78.44% natural content & 35% active, with an excellent biodegradation profile. It’s the perfect raw material for conscious, environmentally friendly formulating! Personal Care Consumer Benefits • Combined with Sodium Lauryl Sarcosinate or Sodium Lauroyl Methyl Isethionate, generates a luxurious, dense creamy foam. • A surfactant system which is not salt tolerant can become unstable using standard Betaine. Higher clarity, controllable viscosity in manufacture & excellent long term stability, is achievable. • Perfect for products claiming ‘high naturally derived content’, ‘vegan’, ‘cruelty-free’ & ‘environmentally friendly’. • Gentle & mild cleansing formulations reduce the potential of skin irritation, making it the ideal surfactant for sensitive skin & baby care. Used in shampoos, hair feels less dry & stripped of moisture. Household Consumer Benefits • Formulations contain less total salt resulting in products which are kinder to surfaces in the kitchen, bathroom or car.
