Richard is MD of his packaging consultancy, Emagine Packaging Ltd., with sustainability as a core brand value supporting both SME and f.m.c.g. brands. He has gained over 30 years’ packaging R&D experience in the food manufacturing and packaging industries with blue-chip packaging suppliers and leading organisations from across the agri-food packaging chain. These include Metal Box Ltd., Nampak, Tetra Pak the Institute of Grocery Distribution (IGD) and Syngenta. An associate in Packaging at the University of Greenwich’s Natural Resources Institute (nri) for M.Sc. food programmes. Also, an Associate Lecturer on “Innovation – Designing for the future” at The Open University. Over the past 6 years, Richard has conducted two Ellen MacArthur Foundation Scheme collaborative industry/academia projects funded by TSB/InnovateUK. Co-editor/co-author of a book entitled ‘Food & Beverage Packaging Technology’ (2nd ed. Wiley-Blackwell). Fellow of the IOM3’s Packaging Society and member of its Packaging Education & Training Committee.
